We know how important the transferability of your earned credit is to you — and we take that seriously.
SUNY Plattsburgh Transfer Process
We know the transfer process can be nerve-wracking, but we want to put your mind at ease. SUNY Plattsburgh participates in over 100 “2+2” articulation agreements with SUNY and community colleges (e.g. Clinton CC, Hudson Valley CC, SUNY Adirondack and North Country CC), streamlining credit transfer and pathway planning.

- GPA Requirements
GPA is calculated across all colleges and universities attended. SUNY Plattsburgh recommends a 2.30 cumulative GPA for guaranteed admission to most programs. However, some majors require a higher GPA to be guaranteed direct admission. For example:
- RN-to-B.S. nursing and social work programs require a minimum 2.5 GPA.
- All education programs require a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for The SUNY Plattsburgh Transfer Guarantee, transfers must meet the following requirements:
- Submit the SUNY Plattsburgh Transfer Guarantee interest form.
- Apply by March 1 for fall admission, or by November 1 for spring admission.
- Provide college transcripts from all previously attended colleges by March 15 for fall admission, or by November 15 for spring admission.
- Submit all application materials requested by Admissions by April 15 for fall admission, or by December 15 for spring admission.
- Additional eligibility requirements may apply.

- Applicants with Prior Disciplinary Dismissals
Applicants who have been dismissed from a college for disciplinary reasons will be required to submit additional documentation and will be reviewed by a standing committee. The purpose of the campus committee is to review appropriate information and decide whether an applicant with a disciplinary dismissal from an institution of higher education should be admitted.
