All School of Business and Economics students are assigned an advisor from their major
department. The advisor’s name will appear on the top of your Degree Works Audit and
within your MyPlattsburgh portal.
A prerequisite is a course (or learning experiences or class level) that must be taken
or completed prior to enrolling in a given class.
For example: MGM 280 Principles of Management has the prerequisites of ENG 101 (English
101), either ECO 101 (Principles of Economics) or both ECO 110 (Macroeconomics) and
ECO 111 (Microeconomics). This means that you must have completed or be in the process
of completing these listed prerequisite courses to enroll in MGM 280.

General (non-SBE) resources about online learning at SUNY Plattsburgh including how
to order an ID card, accessing technical help and frequently asked questions.
All SBE students majoring in accounting, business, business administration, entrepreneurship,
finance, global supply chain management, international business, management, management
information systems and/or marketing must complete the Business Exit Exam.
All majors in the SBE (except economics and hospitality management) at SUNY Plattsburgh
must register for and pass the Business Exit Exam (BUS 489) in order to graduate.
NOTE: If you passed MGM 490 prior to spring 2011 at SUNY Plattsburgh, you have already
met this requirement. The Business Exit Exam (BEE) focuses on the core business knowledge
areas and serves as a direct assessment of student learning in the SBE. There is a
Brightspace review site that all registered students will gain access to prior to
the exam. Topic areas on the review site correlate with the questions on the exam.
Congratulations on your accomplishments! We invite you to join us in person on the
SUNY Plattsburgh campus to walk across the stage and accept your diploma! We gather
as a department so that you can take photos with professors and others who made your
time at SUNY Plattsburgh successful.
Diplomas will be mailed 6-8 weeks after commencement so please be sure your mailing
address is correct in MyPlattsburgh. Here are helpful instructions for updating.
