Many management positions require an understanding of accounting information and employers may seek out students with an accounting background. In your personal life, you may need to balance your checkbook, read your credit card statement, prepare documents for financial aid applications, make investments or take out a car loan. Certainly a minor in accounting can help you in your understanding of technical information. All majors on campus are encouraged to consider a minor in accounting.
