Move-in & Housing
-
Arrival & On-Campus Move-In
On-campus students should log into their Housing Portal where they will find their assigned move-in date and time frame. The dates for our staggered move in are:
- Sunday, February 7, 2021
- Monday, February 8, 2021
- Tuesday, February 9, 2021
To maintain proper social distancing and move-in density, students must arrive to move in during their assigned time frame. We ask that students make every effort to keep this assigned date/time, but know that there may be a conflict. If so, students will have the ability to request a change to that date/time. We will make every effort to accommodate the request, but we must maintain our density levels and social distancing.
Early Arrivals
Students who are enrolled in an Educational Experience (internship, student teaching, etc.) that necessitates an early arrival date, and students with extreme situations will be considered for an early move-in date. To request an early move-in date, students must send a request, with a detailed justification for review to [email protected]. Each student’s request will be reviewed and a decision will be communicated to the student. Students should not make travel arrangements before receiving permission, as permission to move in early is not guaranteed.
-
Housing
Following guidance from N.Y. state, and in an effort to limit density within residence halls on move-in days, students are being welcomed into their on-campus rooms over a three day period in a staggered move-in process. Move-in dates for the Spring 2021 semester are:
- Sunday, February 7, 2021
- Monday, February 8, 2021
- Tuesday, February 9, 2021
- International students should follow the guidance communicated to them by the Global Education Office.
On-campus should log into their Housing Portal where they will find their assigned move-in date and time frame. When making assignments, we will take care to ensure that proper densities and social distancing are maintained in each building and on each floor.
The office is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Placement Exams (Required for Course Registration in Some General Education Courses)
English Directed Self-Placement
Entering students without ENG101 credit take a required Directed Self-Placement questionnaire that helps determine writing competency and indicates which course, ENG 101 or ENG 100, might best suit particular students’ needs. This questionnaire is available at this address: English Directed Self-Placement.
Note: login is required
Please direct any questions regarding this placement to the First-Year Composition Program Director, Dr. Tom Friedrich, at [email protected]. Based on what students conclude, they register for ENG100 or ENG101. In the first week of all sections of ENG100 and ENG101, students also take an in-class diagnostic; if faculty readers conclude students would be better served by being in another class, students will be thus informed before the unrestricted drop/add period ends.
