Senior & Graduate Student Housing

Your next step is so close now and we want your living community to reflect your unique wants and needs.  We’ve placed a great deal of thought into developing a community specifically for you — one that will help set you up for your next adventure.

Senior and graduate-level students are housed primarily in Macdonough Hall and Kent Hall.  Both offer a programming model focused on you, where you are in your education and where you are in terms of thinking about the next steps in your life.

Whether thinking about graduate school or entering the workforce, our on-campus living programs will provide you with support for both. In addition, we’ve developed unique real-world programs to help you better understand the intricacies of life after college. The NEXUS program was created specifically for you and offers preparation for:

  • How to buy a home
  • How to negotiate a pay raise
  • Choosing insurance
  • The ins and outs of healthcare programs
  • Sexual harassment in the workplace
  • Conducting a job search
  • Cooking classes
  • Cleaning and household management
  • Basic automobile care
  • Stress management
  • How to best utilize your last year at Plattsburgh — and more!

Taking advantage of the NEXUS program will not only set you up for success after SUNY Plattsburgh, it will help to relieve some of the stress and anxiety some students feel when leaving college.  We promised you we’d be here for the start of your experience until the end, and we meant it!

Kent NEXUS Program

Comprised of three types of programs — Process, Know Your Rights, and Skill Building — you’ll learn the things that will make you successful when you begin the next chapter of your life after SUNY Plattsburgh. Each program will be presented through face-to-face seminars, bulletin boards, hands on teaching, or through the new TOP 5 Poster/Newsletter series specifically designed for this program.
