Zoom Video Conferencing

When scheduling a meeting:

• Set a password 
• Use the waiting room feature
• Add a co-host to a meeting if:
  
  • Your scheduling a meeting for someone else and they will be starting the meeting
  • Your internet connection is weak and need to ensure the meeting continues even if you drop off.
• Mute participants upon entry
• Only allow host to share screen. You can then allow individuals to share their screen once meeting starts.
• Don’t post your zoom meetings links on social media or other public platforms 
  
  • If you are hosting a large public presentation (open house, orientation etc), we suggest you request use of one of the colleges zoom webinar licenses by emailing [email protected].

After starting meeting:

• Lock the meeting once all participants have joined
• Suggest participants stay muted
  
  • use raise hand feature to talk
  • no mic? — type questions using chat feature
• If you need to record the meeting, use the cloud recording option
• Allow only one participant to share screen at a time.
• Use breakout rooms to work in smaller groups in same meeting.
