Dr. El-Sayed H. Kandiel
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF ACCOUNTING
Dr. El-Sayed H. Kandiel is an associate professor of accounting. He has been teaching for the past sixteen years at SUNY Plattsburgh. Before joining Plattsburgh, Dr. Kandiel was a faculty member at Hofstra University.
Dr. Kandiel earned his bachelor’s degree in commerce (accounting) from University of Helwan, Cairo, Egypt, M.S. in Accounting from Ain-Shmas University, Cairo, Egypt, M.B.A., M. Phil, and Ph.D. in Accounting from Baruch College of the City University of New York (1985). His teaching experience includes financial accounting, managerial accounting, cost accounting, and advanced accounting.
Dr. Kandiel’s research interest is in financial accounting, cost and managerial accounting, accounting education, and international accounting related issues. He coauthored several books in cost accounting, agriculture accounting, and national accounting. His research publications appeared in refereed journals. Dr. Kandiel is a member of several academic organizations including American Accounting Association, International Accounting Section of the American Accounting Association, Management Accounting Section of the American Accounting Association, and Accounting Information Systems Section of the American Accounting Association.
Dr. Kandiel is active in providing his service to the department, school, and the college. He has served as a member for more than ten different committees.
