Dr. Chuo-Hsuan (Jason) Lee

Dr. Chuo-Hsuan (Jason) Lee is the chair of the Department of Accounting. He has taught at SUNY Plattsburgh since 2006. He is the recipient of a Certificate of Distinguished Performance from the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) (‘05) and the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching (’11). He was promoted to the rank of SUNY Distinguished Teaching Professor in 2021.

Dr. Lee earned his Ph.D. in Accounting (2003) from Kent State University. He is a licensed CPA in New York State. He is also a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Financial Manager (CFM), and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).

Dr. Lee’s teaching interests include financial and managerial accounting, intermediate accounting, financial statement analysis, cost accounting, and forensic accounting.

Dr. Lee’s research interests include corporate governance, corporate payout policy, earnings management, executive compensation, cost management, forensic accounting, and accounting education. His research publications have appeared in many refereed journals, including Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, Journal of Economic and Finance, Investment Management and Financial Innovations, Journal of Forensic and Investigative Accounting, and International Journal of Economics and Finance.
