Dr. Edward Sturman
Co-CHAIR OF PSYCHOLOGY
Professor of Psychology, Social & Personality Psychology
On a broad level, I have conducted most of my work in the area of psychological assessment. More specifically, I am interested in evolutionary theories of mood disorder, with a particular focus on how various personality styles are connected to depression and anxiety. I have also conducted research into the degree of victory or defeat associated with various life events and how this impacts mood. More recently, I have been studying grit, which has been connected to academic performance.
