Health Majors
If helping others is your dream, we’ll equip you to be a healthcare and health services professional from day one, working in “real world” facilities with faculty who have worked — and excelled in the field.
What Will I Learn?
Our programs will give you a strong foundation in science and technology, real experience in labs and internships along with a core liberal arts education that develops your ability to think critically, master your discipline and communicate effectively.
What is Unique About Our Programs?
We have well-equipped, modern labs that let you learn in a real-world setting. From the Damianos Nursing Skills Laboratory with high-tech bedside computers and the SimMan high-fidelity simulator to the Nutrition Food Lab with its state-of-the-art food preparation area to the Speech and Hearing Center — a fully functioning clinic for people with speech, language, and hearing disorders.
For degrees leading to careers requiring licensure, our exam pass rates are excellent. 9 in 10 of our students pass their professional exams. The pass rate for nursing students is above the state average and speech-language pathology’s rate is 100%!
If you are headed into the field of medicine, our pre-health professions advising committee are experts who will help guide you through choosing the right mix of courses and experiences medical schools look for.
