Message from the Dean
Welcome to the School of Education, Health, and Human Services at SUNY Plattsburgh, otherwise known as EHHS.
As the dean, it is my great pleasure to extend a warm welcome to all our new and returning faculty, staff and students. My connection to EHHS is long standing as I am a SUNY Plattsburgh alumna. I am extremely grateful for the lessons I learned while a student in EHHS. I learned the importance of teaching excellence, professionalism, having an open mind, and championing initiatives related to diversity, equity and inclusion.

Whether you are planning to become a nurse, nutritionist, guide, counselor, teacher, fitness and wellness leader, wilderness first responder, social worker, personal trainer, case manager, childcare center director, speech language pathologist, or school/district administrator, the common themes are the commitment to service and community. Each of these programs are critical to society and as such you, as an alumnus of EHHS will be poised to make a lasting impact.

Learn the Art of Making a Difference
When you become an EHHS Cardinal, you will embark upon a complex journey that relies on the understanding of yourself, your chosen path and the human condition. In EHHS, we recognize that in order to be an effective professional, you must be true to your values of helping others achieve their goals. Our programs are intended to facilitate lifelong learning and growth; honesty; collaboration; appreciation; respect and empathy; social justice; and broad mindedness.
EHHS offers high quality learning experiences which include applied or experiential learning opportunities to assist in preparing you for your chosen field. These experiences are designed to be transformational and promote the development of critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills that facilitate personal and professional growth. In EHHS, we recognize place matters and the place that matters most is the place you plan to make a difference. Therefore, many of our programs allow you to complete your culminating field experiences, internships and clinical placements in your local communities.
