President’s Inclusive Excellence Council
As a step toward advancing our work in providing inclusive learning environments, and campus-wide workplace policies and practices that affirm the dignity of all people, President Alexander Enyedi has created the President’s Inclusive Excellence Council.
The group meets monthly to develop strategies and tactics, assess ongoing implementation efforts, and identify priorities for the future. It will assist in enhancing our diversity, equity and inclusion efforts and make recommendations to me that demonstrate a collective voice and vision.
Partnering with the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (ODEI), it provides advice, counsel, and leverage expertise to create institutional and systemic change. Other goals of the council and its members are to:
- Serve as SUNY Plattsburgh ambassadors and change agents for inclusive excellence both on and off campus.
- Advocate and champion institutional inclusive excellence programs, initiatives, and practices within their respective schools, divisions and departments.
- Provide representation at off-campus and community events and initiatives to complement the efforts of ODEI staff.
- Participate in monthly meetings and help with and promote ODEI programs and events.
