Transfers
- Course Advisement Begins (Banner Web Registration PIN Access Required): Nov. 16, 2020 — Transfer students begin contacting department chairs for course advisement and to obtain the registration PIN required to access Banner Web registration.
- Nov. 30, 2020 (8 a.m.) – Feb. 7, 2021 (11:30 p.m.) — Banner Web Online Registration (Access Through MyPlattsburgh Portal) — Note: Please register early. Registration PINS are required.

- Go to MyPlattsburgh.
- Login in with NetID and Password.
- Click on Student Services menu tab.
- Under Registrar, click on Lookup Courses to Add.
- Select Term (Spring 2021).
- Click Advanced Search.
- Select course subject or other search criteria and press the Class Search button at the bottom of the form.
- Check the box next to the desired course(s), scroll to end of page, and submit changes. Approval to add a closed course is granted by the department chairperson only.

Spring 2021 Courses

Summer & Fall 2021 Course Advisement
- March 29, 2021 through April 9, 2021
Fall 2021 Semester
- Fall courses begin Aug. 30, 2021 and end Dec. 17, 2021.
Priority Registration Notes:
- Fall registration begins April 5, 2021 (8 a.m) for all matriculated nursing (RN option) students, online accounting students, students currently studying abroad and all SUNY Plattsburgh at Queensbury students.
- Priority registration begins April 12, 2021 (8 a.m) and ends April 25, 2021 (11:30 p.m) for main campus students.
- Registration priority is determined by student classification (i.e., based on earned credits; registration groups consisting of approximately 100 students each will register on an hourly basis throughout the registration period).
- All holds must be cleared before registration is permitted.
- Students may adjust their course schedules from the first day registration access is granted through the end of the priority registration period.
- Full-time status (12 credits or more) is required for athletic eligibility, health insurance, financial aid and international students. Athletes and international students in their last semester of study are exempt from this requirement.
- Undergraduate students may register for up to 18 credit hours per semester. Students interested in registering for a credit-hour overload must complete the [Fillable] Credit Hour Overload form. Approval from the student’s academic adviser, department chairperson and dean is required.
- Permission to register for closed or restricted courses may be granted by the department chairperson or dean only.
- A $40 late registration fee applies to students who are not registered by April 26, 2021.
Course Adjustment/Add Drop
Notes:
- Course adjustment begins April 26, 2021 (10 a.m.) – June 13, 2021 (11:30 p.m.) and July 26, 2021 (10 a.m.) – September 5, 2021 (11:30 p.m.).
- Access Banner Web to complete your registration. No registration code is required at this time.
- All holds must be cleared before registration is permitted.
- Wait lists cleared June 14, 2021 (8 a.m.).
- Complete your schedule to avoid late course add fees.

Summer 2021 Courses
- Registration for Summer Session A begins Apr. 5, 2021 (10 a.m) and continues through May. 25, 2021.
- Registration for Summer Session B begins Apr. 5, 2021 (10 a.m) and continues through June 13, 2021.
- Registration for Summer Session C begins Apr. 5, 2021 (10 a.m) and continues through Jul. 18, 2021.
- Registration codes (PINs) are not required to access summer Banner registration forms. All students are encouraged to register early.
Fall 2021 Courses
- Fall courses begin Aug. 30, 2021 and end Dec. 17, 2021.
- Registration for Fall begins Friday Apr. 2, 2021 (8 a.m) and continues through Sept. 5, 2021 (11:30 p.m).

- Matriculated graduate students not currently attending must notify the Graduate Admissions Office of their intent to return 518-564-4723 or [email protected]. Afterward, a registration time ticket permitting access to online registration will be generated. Students are responsible for all information on their registration records, including tuition and fees associated with all courses.

Non-Matriculated Students
What is a Non-Matriculated Student?
A non-matriculated student is a student who is not currently enrolled in a degree program.
As a Non-Matriculated Student, How do I Register for Courses?
Step 1: Apply
Complete and submit the online Non-Matriculated Student Registration Formbefore the published start date. This must be done every semester for which you would like to register as a non-matriculated student. The online form is submitted directly and requires no further action.
Note: If you have problems accessing the online form, please contact the registrar’s office at 518-564-2100 or email [email protected].
Step 2: Receive Registration Approval
The registrar’s office will forward an email to you after your application is processed. The email will provide your assigned date and time to access Banner Web to complete the registration process. All applications must be received at least two business days prior to the start date of classes.
Registration Dates
- Spring 2021: non-matriculated student registration begins Jan. 4, 2021 (10 a.m.) through Feb. 7, 2021 (11:30 p.m.).
- Summer 2021:
- Registration for Summer Session A begins Apr. 12, 2021 (10 a.m) and continues through May. 25, 2021.
- Registration for Summer Session B begins Apr. 12, 2021 (10 a.m) and continues through June 13, 2021.
- Registration for Summer Session C begins Apr. 12, 2021 (10 a.m) and continues through Jul. 18, 2021.
- Fall 2021: non-matriculated student registration begins Aug. 9, 2021 (10 a.m.) through Sept. 5, 2021 (11:30 p.m.).
Step 3: Register on Banner Web
- Non-matriculated students register for classes on a space-available basis. SUNY Plattsburgh reserves the right to deny entry to a class if a non-matriculated student does not meet the prerequisite or other established registration criteria.
- Non-matriculated students may register for a maximum of 11 credit hours each semester (fall/spring).
- Non-matriculated graduate students who plan to matriculate into a graduate program may apply a maximum of 12 graduate credit hours accrued as a non-matriculated student toward a graduate program. We strongly recommend that you discuss your plans with an adviser in the appropriate department before taking any courses.
