    Entering Fall 2018

    Freshmen

    The Admissions Office forwards information regarding registration services, dates, and deadlines to all new students. Questions may be directed to the Admissions Office (518-564-2040).  

    Transfers

    • Course Advisement Begins (Banner Web Registration PIN Access Required):  May 25, 2018 Transfer students begin contacting department chairs for course advisement and to obtain the registration PIN required to access Banner Web registration.
       
    • Online Registration for Main and Branch Campus Students:  June 22, 2018 (10 a.m.) - September 2, 2018 (11:30 p.m.)
      Staff at the branch campus are available to assist Branch Campus students with registration.
       
    • In-Person Course Advisement/Registration (if needed): August 26, 2018 (10 a.m.; Learning Center).

    Readmits

    • April 2, 2018 (10 a.m.) - September 2, 2018 (11:30 p.m.) - Banner Web Online Registration (Access Through MyPlattsburgh Portal)
      Note: Please register early. Registration PINS are not required.

    Graduate

    Before You Register

    Undergraduate students requiring assistance with course selection should initially contact the department chairperson of their major. If additional course selection advisement is needed, feel free to contact the Office of Academic Advising:

    Students are responsible for all tuition and fees associated with their course registrations. If you have been accepted to SUNY Plattsburgh but cannot attend, please contact the Admissions Office as soon as possible:

    Banner Web (Online Registration)

    1. Go to MyPlattsburgh.
    2. Login in with NetId and Password.
    3. Click on Student Services menu tab.
    4. Under Registrar, click on Lookup Courses to Add.
    5. Select Term (Summer 2018 or Fall 2018).
    6. Click Advanced Search.
    7. Select course subject or other search criteria and press the Class Search button at the bottom of the form.
    8. Check the box next to the desired course(s), scroll to end of page, and submit changes. Approval to add a closed course is granted by the department chairperson only.

  • Undergraduate Students

    Fall 2018 Course Advisement

    • March 26, 2018 through April 6, 2018

    Summer 2018 Courses

    • Registration for Summer Session begins April 2, 2018 and continues through first day of course.  Registration codes (PINs) are not required to access summer Banner registration forms.  All students are encouraged to register early.

    Fall 2018 Semester

    • August 27, 2018 through December 14, 2018

    Priority Registration Notes:

    1. Fall registration begins April 2, 2018 for all matriculated Nursing (RN option) students, students studying abroad Spring 2018 and all SUNY Plattsburgh at Queensbury students.
    2. Priority registration begins April 9, 2018 and ends April 22, 2018 for main campus students.
    3. Registration priority is determined by student classification (i.e., based on earned credits; registration groups consisting of approximately 100 students each will register on an hourly basis throughout the registration period).
    4. All holds must be cleared before registration is permitted.
    5. Students may adjust their course schedules from the first day registration access is granted through the end of the priority registration period.
    6. Full-time status (12 credits or more) is required for athletic eligibility, health insurance, financial aid and international students. Athletes and international students in their last semester of study are exempt from this requirement.
    7. Undergraduate students may register for up to 18 credit hours per semester. Students interested in registering for a credit-hour overload must complete the Credit Hour Overload form (PDF). Approval from the student's academic advisor, department chairperson and dean is required.
    8. Permission to register for closed or restricted courses may be granted by the department chairperson or dean only.
    9. A $40 late registration fee applies to students who do not register during the priority registration period (April 9, 2018 - April 22, 2018).

    Course Adjustment/Add Drop

    Notes:

    1. Course adjustment begins April 23, 2018 through June 3, 2018 and July 5, 2018 through September 2, 2018.
    2. Access Banner Web to complete your registration. No registration code is required at this time.
    3. All holds must be cleared before registration is permitted.
    4. Wait lists purged June 4, 2018 (8 a.m.).
    5. Complete your schedule to avoid late course add fees.
