Psychiatry & Medication Management
Psychiatry Services
Psychiatry services are not available within the Student Health and Counseling Center. We encourage all students who have a psychiatric provider at home to maintain that relationship while attending SUNY Plattsburgh. If that is not possible, please contact one of the Plattsburgh area providers listed below, before arriving on campus.
The center does not offer ADD/ADHD testing. Our medical providers can prescribe ADD/ADHD medications to students who have been previously diagnosed with ADD/ADHD, but records are required. If you are in need of medication, contact us so that we may assist you in obtaining the necessary records.

Medication Management in Student Health
Our medical providers prescribe medications for behavioral health conditions such as anxiety, depression and PTSD.
Students can self-refer for services or be referred by our counseling staff. The counseling staff and medical providers often collaborate in the care of students with behavioral health conditions.
The medical providers see patients for behavioral health medication management during the fall and spring semesters. New patient appointments are accepted until approximately four weeks prior to the end of each semester.
