Dr. Elson Cibaku
Assistant professor, Data Analytics
Dr. Elson Cibaku joined SUNY Plattsburgh in Fall 2025 as an assistant professor of data analytics. He earned his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, where his research focused on reinforcement learning and distributed optimization with applications in power systems and logistics.
Dr. Cibaku previously worked as a senior lecturer at the University of Tirana and held software engineering roles in the tech industry, including lead software engineer at B2Tech and senior software developer at Facilization.
His current research focuses on distributed optimization and learning, with particular interest in power system state estimation, dynamic demand response, and modeling complex system dynamics.
