SUNY Plattsburgh adopts the following policy to accommodate lactating and nursing employees.

    The State University of New York (SUNY) Plattsburgh is committed to complying with all applicable NYS and federal laws regarding chest/breastfeeding. SUNY Plattsburgh does not discriminate against any employee who chooses to chest/breastfeed. No employee will be discriminated or retaliated against for nursing or expressing milk during the workday, and reasonable efforts will be made to assist employees in meeting their infant feeding goals while at work.

    Any act found to be intentional that invades a nursing employee’s privacy will be subject to counseling or discipline, up to and including termination consistent with the terms and conditions of any applicable Collective Bargaining Agreements.

    To file a complaint/s with the NYSDOL, call 1-888-52-LABOR, send an email to
    [email protected], or visit the nearest labor standards office (Albany District, State Office Campus, Bldg.12, Room 185A, Albany, NY 12240). Employees may file a complaint with SUNY Plattsburgh by contacting their supervisor or Human Resource Services. Students may file a complaint with SUNY Plattsburgh by contacting Human Resource Services or following the instructions: Student Concerns & Complaint Procedures.
