SUNY Tuition Waiver


All state and research foundation employees are eligible to apply for one course (1 – 6 credits) per fiscal year at a SUNY school (benefit prorated for part-time employees). Please complete the application, have it signed by your supervisor, and return to Human Resource and Payroll Services for approval/processing. Due to the limited funds available, often only a portion of the tuition is covered. SUNY Tuition Waiver

Please refer to the table below for important dates associated with SUNY Tuition Waiver applications, including application deadlines and notification timelines. Approval and denial notices will be distributed after the application deadline and prior to the due date of the tuition bill.

UUP Tuition Waiver


All UUP-represented employees are allowed to take one course per semester or session on a space-available basis at a SUNY (state-operated) campus. Please complete the application and return to Human Resource and Payroll Services for approval/processing. UUP Tuition Waiver Application

Auditing a Course


Students, faculty, staff and community members may audit most courses on a space-available basis if they have the permission of course instructors, complete this Course Audit Form, and pay a non-refundable registration fee of $50 (exemptions listed below) and any applicable course-specific, technology and college fees.

Persons who audit shall attend courses without working for or expecting to receive a grade or formal credit. The following types of courses may not be audited: Practicum courses; internships; research and independent study courses; field courses; clinical courses; workshops; on-line/hybrid courses; and study away courses and programs.

Exemptions include: Senior citizens, SUNY Plattsburgh matriculated students, alumnae, retirees, employees, and immediate family members of employees
