Formerly known as Summer Safari, we are thrilled to bring back our summer enrichment
programs under the new name of Camp Cardinal.
College Auxiliary Services is excited to announce Camp Cardinal! Our popular summer
program combines learning and hands-on fun for children ages five to 17-years-old.
The program brings local teachers and SUNY Plattsburgh professors together to teach
a variety of courses.
For more than 35 years, Camp Cardinal has provided learning in the following areas:
Art
Engineering
Health and wellness
History
Science
Storytelling
Theatre
Writing
Classes range from two hours to seven hours. Prices range from $90 – $210. Discounts
are available for children and grandchildren of active U.S. military service members

Little Art Explorers 2-D Safari, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. with Jennifer Shutts, ages 5–8
Students will learn how to express their creativity through different art mediums
in worldly nature themes.
Little Art Explorers 3-D Safari, Monday through Friday, 1 – 3:30 p.m. with Jennifer Shutts, ages 5–8
Students will learn how to create sculptures inspired by nature nearby and far away.
Magic School Bus, Monday through Friday, noon – 2 p.m. with Diane Pecoraro, ages 5–7
Each day we will read a book, enjoy an experiment based on the book, do a craft, and
watch an episode of the beloved series.
Reading, Art & Snacks, Monday through Friday, 9 – 11 a.m. with Diane Pecoraro. ages 5–7
After reading and discussing classic children′s books, we will dive into associated
crafts, enjoy a snack and watch a short movie.
Summer STEM Fun, Tuesday and Thursday, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. with Jennifer LaDue, ages 5–7

Green Thumb Gardening, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. with Amanda Madore, ages 8-12
Come join the gratifying Green Thumb Gardening! Green thumb is a term to describe
a natural talent of growing plants. We’ll experiment, play around, get your body moving,
eat green snacks, and create so many creative projects to take home. Projects include:
rain sticks, seed painting, terrariums, sprouting and herb pots.
LitCamp, Monday through Friday, 12:30 – 3:30 p.m. with Jodie Bonville, ages 8–12
Various literacy activities centered around different themes
Summer STEM Fun, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9 a.m. – noon with Jennifer LaDue, ages 8–10

Tiny Adventures: Exploring the Microbes Around Us, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. with Nana Ankrah, ages 9–12
Young microbiologists will use the power of creative scientific investigation to explore
the diversity of microbes in their environment
Unlock Your Inner Author, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. – noon with Jodie Bonville, ages 8–12
Students will enjoy a creative writing class by learning the basics of story writing
and the steps to self-publishing
Courses for Ages 11-17
Kids in the Kitchen, Monday through Friday, 9 – 11 a.m. with Laura Rathbun & Sarah Yandow, ages 12–15
