We strongly encourage students to discuss their banking needs in person with bank representatives.

Required Documents for Opening a Bank Account


Make sure you have the following documents with you when you go to the bank:

  • Passport (unexpired)
  • I-20 or DS-2019
  • I-94 (can be printed from Department of Homeland Security)
  • Plattsburgh ID card
  • Printed copy of acceptance letter or email

You cannot open a bank account without these documents. Please stop by the Global Education Office if you need assistance.
