Edward Smith
Adjunct Lecturer of Criminal Justice
Edward Smith retired in the fall of 2017 from the Plattsburgh Police Department with 21 years of service. He had worked as a Detective from 2004 until his retirement. He was also a crisis negotiator and NYS DCJS Master Instructor; he also taught in regional police academies from 2000 until his retirement. At SUNY Plattsburgh he has taught Organized Crime, Criminal Investigation, Police and Society, Criminology and the Criminal Justice System, Introduction to Criminal Justice, Sociology of Law, and Introduction to Sociology.
He now works as a federal employee in South Burlington, Vermont.
In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family.
