Mark Baran
GIS Instructional Support Technician
I am a spatial ecologist interested in helping answer questions of “where?” and “why there?” in environmental science, planning and geology. Prior to coming to Plattsburgh in 2023, I worked as a seasonal field biologist for several years across North America with a primary focus on seabird ecology, including graduate research on overwinter movements of Atlantic Puffins. I collaborate with students and faculty on a wide variety of projects with geographical components.
