- 4.0 PolicyDue to increasing incidents of violence in certain regions of Mexico, the following travel restriction has been established until further notice. SUNY Plattsburgh will not operate, sponsor or authorize any study abroad program for students in northern Mexico and select regions in the interior including the states of Baja California, Sonora, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo Leon, Tamaulipas, Sinaloa, Durango and Michoacán. Furthermore, SUNY Plattsburgh recommends that its students not enroll in other SUNY or other college study abroad programs that include travel in these regions of Mexico.
