Performance Venues


SUNY Plattsburgh has five dedicated venues, varying is size from 95 seats to 789 seats.

E. Glenn Giltz Auditorium


Location: Hawkins Hall

Operated by event management, the beautifully renovated E. Glenn Giltz Auditorium is but one of our performing art venues on the campus of SUNY Plattsburgh. Concerts, theatre, dance, political events, and corporate meetings are an example of the diversity of events we produce. Giltz Auditorium is also the venue of choice for the Department of Music faculty recitals, guest artists, and many of our community groups, such as: The Gibson Brothers, The Adirondack Wind Ensemble, Adirondack Dance Company, and Champlain Valley Education Services to name a few. Historically, the venue has even hosted such notables as Phish and Joe Cocker.

Hyman & Frances Krinovitz Recital Hall


Location: Hawkins Hall

An intimate space for 152 patrons with wonderful acoustics, Krinovitz Recital Hall is a popular spot for student recitals, guest artists, master classes, and other events desiring the formality of a traditional theatre with the intimacy of a small space.

Hartman Theatre


Location: Myers Fine Arts Building

Hartman is a proscenium style theatre ideally suited for musicals (moving orchestra pit), plays, and other dramatic productions. As a fully operating theatre, the Department of Theatre uses this space for their productions as well as the many touring shows of past production seasons. Audience capacity is 409.

Black Box Studio Theatre


Location: Myers Fine Arts Building

This small, flexible space has an installed lighting grid with lighting and sound packages installed for each event. Serving as a classroom, performance/rehearsal space and a dance studio, the “studio” is very active. Please contact Jen Mattot at [email protected] to reserve space in the Black Box Studio.

Music Recital Room


Location: Myers Fine Arts Building

Doubling as a student performing and rehearsing space, Myers 300 is used for performance classes, auditions, and large ensemble rehearsals. The room seats 95 and features a Baldwin grand piano. Please contact Jen Mattot at [email protected] to reserve MFA 300.
