Concerts, Choirs, & Ensembles


Tickets for all events can be purchased at the Angell College Center, online at tickets.plattsburgh.edu or at the door unless otherwise stated. Sorry NO REFUNDS or EXCHANGES on tickets. Box office opens one hour before the show.

The Department of Music welcomes the public to our events with the understanding that masks are to be worn throughout your visit. Special permission has been allotted to performers to temporarily remove masks during events while on-stage. We hope you safely enjoy our events throughout the semester and going forward.

Fall 2022


Music Meet & Greet

Join us in the Cardinal Lounge and meet departmental faculty and staff, all while enjoying some great live music by guitar faculty Michael Fratino. 9 to 5 Musical Auditions

  • Date: Tuesday, September 6 and Wednesday, September 7
  • Time: Auditions at 6 p.m. on Tuesday; callbacks at 6 p.m. on Wednesday

This semester we’re bringing 9 to 5 to the Strand Theatre and we need your help! This great musical needs a fun-loving cast to perform in mid-November and we’re hoping that you’ll be part of it! Adirondack Wind Ensemble

This September, the Adirondack Wind Ensemble comes back to the E. Glenn Giltz stage with another exciting concert! Music director Daniel Gordon has put together a performance featuring the members of AWE and special guest Allan McMurray! Don’t miss out on this grand event!

The Brian McCarthy Jazz Orchestra

What better way to emerge from the pandemic than with a celebration of what the Vermont artistic community has to offer. Saxophonist/composer Brian McCarthy directs the 17-piece jazz orchestra in a program that combines new works and stellar musicianship. Featuring trumpet icon Ray Vega, the orchestra will showcase Latin jazz originals and classic standards arranged by McCarthy and Vega. Join us as we celebrate the premiere of all new music with an all new jazz orchestra.

9 to 5 the Musical

9 to 5 The Musical, with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnick, is based on the 1980 hit movie and set to an incredible soundtrack. Set in the late 1970s, this comedy about friendship and revenge in the “Rolodex Era” is funny, inspirational, and even a little romantic at times.

Champlain Valley Voices: Messiah by G.F. Handel

Champlain Valley Voices returns to the E. Glenn Giltz Auditorium for a holiday concert!
