Kira Krier is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with more than 20 years
of experience serving individuals and communities in Burlington, Vermont. She is a
certified EMDR therapist and consultant recognized by the EMDR International Association,
as well as a certified trauma-informed yoga instructor who integrates yoga and breathwork
into healing practices for survivors.
Ms. Krier specializes in the treatment of trauma, grief, loss, sexual assault, domestic
violence, human trafficking, depression, and anxiety. She is deeply committed to ending
violence through education, outreach, and advocacy. In recognition of her work, she
was honored by the Vermont Center for Crime Victims in 2002 for her commitment to
survivors of crime and by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC)
in 2021 for her dedication to supporting sexually exploited children and their families.
For the past 12 years, Ms. Krier has focused her clinical and advocacy work on supporting
survivors of human trafficking, particularly incarcerated female-identified victims.
She served as the Human Trafficking Victim Services Director for the State of Vermont,
where she spearheaded the development of the state’s labor trafficking fact sheet.
Before returning to private practice, she served as the clinical director at H.O.P.E.
Works, where she continues to promote trauma-informed practices.
An experienced consultant and educator, Ms. Krier has worked extensively with multidisciplinary
teams to build their knowledge of trauma-informed approaches in complex systems. Her
passion lies in helping survivors heal while advancing systemic change through education,
collaboration, and innovation.
