Zarha is a double major in geology and physics, with a goal of getting her master’s degree in astronomy or planetary science to ultimately become a planetary scientist. Born and raised in Manhattan, N.Y., Zarha has dreamed of a career in astronomy ever since she started school as a child. Growing up, she watched every space documentary and read every space book there is, and looked up to her grandfather who worked for NASA. Once in high school, she found a special interest in the geology of rocky celestial bodies in our solar system, and then decided to pursue an undergraduate degree in geology, wanting to learn a new subject outside of just astronomy, in which she was already familiar. Zahra is currently looking to do research on volcanology in the solar system, as well as how the surfaces of rocky celestial bodies evolved over time and what processes took place to form these surface features.

Kaelyn is a junior from Granville, N.Y. She grew up with a love for everything astronomical, and loved to learn about the universe around her. She had originally planned to study astronomy but the world of rocks and minerals caught her eye at Plattsburgh. One day Kaelyn hopes to mix the two together and become a planetary geologist. Kaelyn is the current secretary of the Galilean Society and helped to being the club back after some years of no meetings. She has worked for the planetarium since January 2023.
