- Keep your workstation and mobile phone software up to date.
- Lock your devices and work area when not in use.
- Appropriately protect sensitive materials and assets in your work area.
- Use separate personal and work emails accounts.
- Never share your authentication credentials with other users.
- Use a password manager and a separate appropriately complex password for each service.
- Use multi-factor authentication wherever possible.
- Encrypt your devices with full disk encryption.
- Don’t connect to unsecured WiFi networks.
- Be mindful about downloading potentially malicious software or documents.
- Be mindful when deciding if a communication is fraudulent. Verify links in email before following them. Be especially wary about any communication asking for anything of value. If you feel the communication may be legitimate use a separate channel to verify the request. Always err on the side of caution when dealing with valuables. If in doubt contact the campus Helpdesk.
