SUNY Plattsburgh’s cellular telephone program is designed to assist employees in delivering critical services. To participate in the cellular telephone program employees must meet the basic eligibility criteria:
- Responsibilities include making critical day-to-day business decisions requiring immediate attention.
- Responsibilities involve significant time away from the desk or workplace and communication is essential and no other communication solutions (e.g., two-way radios or pagers) are sufficient to fulfill job requirements.
- Position is expected to receive and return critical calls outside
core working hours - Designated as key personnel needed in the event of an
emergency
In addition,
- Departments must have funding within their accounts (funding source may be state or IFR accounts, although IFR is preferred) to pay for the employees contracted cellular service and,
- All participants must agree to and abide by cellular telephone program. The University reserves the right to change or terminate this policy at any time and/or to discontinue/suspend departmental usage at anytime.
