Parking Lots & Restrictions
Regulations pertaining to vehicle registration and operation are enforced by University Police 24 hours a day throughout the entire year. Individuals that park on campus shall comply with the campus traffic and parking regulations
Parking Guidelines
- Prohibited & Restricted Parking Areas
During regular campus business hours (Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.), lots are restricted to campus tag holders by designation — on-campus student, off-campus student, faculty/staff. Temporary tag holders, such as vendors and visitors, have access to these designated lots as outlined on the temporary tag.
After business hours, lots are unrestricted to tag holders, except lots prohibiting parking midnight to 8 a.m. and lots that restrict parking to faculty or staff 24/7.
As a safety precaution, parking is prohibited in all bike lanes and crosswalks; on access roadways, such as Kent Roadway and Tower Way, and in areas not defined by two white lines. Other restricted parking areas include:
- Podium (from Kehoe to Feinberg Library) prohibits parking except for authorized state vehicles and vehicles bearing special use service tags.
- Rugar Street Bus Stop (between Angell College Center and Myers Fine Arts) restricts parking to load/unload persons only. Driver must remain with vehicle.
- Building Loading Zones allow 15-minute parking to deliver goods when flashers are on.
- Construction lay down areas restrict parking to authorized contractor vehicles as negotiated.
- Reserved Parking
Refer to the Vehicle Registration Guidelines for
- Persons with disabling condition for parking in reserved accessible parking
- Employees required to use a personal vehicle as a service vehicle for parking in reserved service vehicle spaces when conducting official business.
- Other reserved spaces include, but are not limited to, docent, police, physician, clinic, patient, etc.
- Towing
The college reserves the authority to immobilize, or remove from campus by towing, any vehicle that repeatedly parks in violation of the campus regulations, specifically, a minimum of five tickets and a warning.
If towed, the owner or registrant, is liable for all fines and towing charges, and will not be able to retrieve the vehicle until all fines and tow charges are paid.
