Neuropsychology Clinic & Psychoeducational Services
This life span clinic is professionally staffed by licensed psychologists, licensed mental health counselors and certified school psychologists.
Temporary Suspension of Services
We want to provide an important update regarding assessment services at the Neuropsychology Clinic and Psychoeducational Services (the “Clinic”). Due to changes in how SUNY Administration and SUNY Plattsburgh manage assessment services, we must temporarily suspend these services while we update our processes to align with new SUNY administrative requirements.
This suspension applies only to the Clinic within the Center for Neurobehavioral Health (the “Center”) and does not impact the Center’s five other programs.
At this time, we cannot predict with certainty how long it will take to finalize the necessary revisions to operational processes. However, we are hopeful that we will be able to resume autism, psychoeducational, psychological, and other assessment services within the next few months, if not sooner. Once we secure the required SUNY approvals, we anticipate being able to expand our services and strengthen our ability to serve the community.
We understand the importance of these assessments and recognize the impact of this temporary suspension. We encourage those in need of immediate services to explore alternative options as we work toward resuming operations. Our campus teams are actively working to expedite this process, and we will provide further updates as soon as we have a clearer timeline for reopening scheduling.
We appreciate your patience and continued partnership during this transition. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
About Us
Our clinic serves as a training site for School Psychology interns and graduate students who work under the supervision of professional staff for the completion of select neuropsychological and psychoeducational evaluations. Referrals to the clinic include cognitive and behavioral problems associated with concussion, acquired brain injury (e.g. TBI) as well as problems related to aging or disease. Children with developmental concerns associated with presumed central nervous system dysfunction or brain damage are referred for evaluation. Children suspected of having autism spectrum disorder are also evaluated by clinical staff trained in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of the disorder. The clinical team works with school districts, community agencies and health care providers to promote the overall well-being of the children and adults evaluated at the clinic.
