Salvatore Graven Appointed to the College Council

PLATTSBURGH, NY __ Salvatore C. Graven has been appointed by Governor George Pataki to the College Council at the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh.

Graven will complete the unexpired term of Suzanne Perley, who recently resigned from the College Council. Graven's term will expire on June 30, 2011.

"I am looking forward to working with Mr. Graven," said Donald Garrant, chairperson of the College Council. "It will be nice to have a young alumnus on the council."

Graven, a resident of Albany, N.Y., is a 2002 alumnus of SUNY Plattsburgh who graduated with a bachelor's degree in political science. Since 2002, Graven has worked in the Governor's Office. He served as an advance representative for the Governor's Scheduling Office from 2002 - 2004 and now serves in the Executive Office as a special assistant and travel aide to Governor Pataki.

"It is a great honor to receive this appointment by the Governor," said Graven. "I'm excited to serve on the council. It will be great to give back to the College and community as an alumnus of SUNY Plattsburgh."

Graven is currently weighing his professional options following the change in the Governor's Office on Jan. 1. "I'm looking forward to deciding among several career opportunities."

The next regularly scheduled College Council meeting will be held on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2007.
