Production of "Bus Stop" in Hartman Theatre April 14 - 17
PLATTSBURGH, NY __ The Theatre Department at the State University of New York College
at Plattsburgh presents the play, "Bus Stop," written by William Inge. Performances
run from Wednesday, April 14 through Saturday, April 17 at 8 p.m. in the Hartman Theatre,
Myers Fine Arts Building.
When William Inge's landmark American play, "Bus Stop," first appeared on Broadway, the New York Post reviewer perceptively wrote, "William Inge should be a great comfort to all of us...he brings to the theatre a kind of warmhearted compassion, creative vigor, freshness of approach and appreciation of average humanity that can be wonderfully touching and stimulating." That was in 1955, but this classic has never gone out of style. And, of course, millions know it from the film version starring Marilyn Monroe.
The Plattsburgh State production will be directed by Kim Hartshorn, associate professor of theatre. Tickets are available in advance at the Angell College Center Information Desk or at the Hartman Theatre Box Office the nights of the performances. Prices are as follows: general admission is $10; faculty/staff/senior citizens/non-Plattsburgh State student tickets are $7; and Plattsburgh State student tickets are $2.
For more information, contact the Theatre Department at 518-564-2180.
