Million Can Redemption Plan Enters Final Weekend
The Ted K. Million Can Redemption Plan, a campaign led by public relations students to collect and redeem bottles and cans to benefit Plattsburgh’s Ted K. Community Center, is entering its final weekend.
Students in the campaign invite campus and community members to donate redeemables by Tuesday, May 5.
The campaign team, with help from various community and campus organizations, have been conducting neighborhood sweeps for several weeks. Members will host a final sweep on Sunday at locations on and near campus.
Donation boxes are available across campus in residence halls, and a collection trailer from Northern Cakes Redemption Center continues to gather bottles and cans at the Field House.
Over the past month, the Million Can Plan has hosted more than 10 sweeps and collection events and involved more than 50 campus and community organizations as sponsors, partners and donors — including Pepsi. A $200 prize will be awarded to the organization that donates the most items.
