Farewell Dinner May 12 for Interim President John Clark
PLATTSBURGH, NY __ A Farewell Dinner to honor Interim President John Clark will be held Wednesday, May 12 at the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh. The dinner, which cost $50 per person, will be held in the Warren Ballrooms, Angell College Center beginning with a reception at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. and is open to the public.
The College Council at Plattsburgh State and the Plattsburgh College Foundation are sponsors of the event.
Arnold Amell, acting chair of the College Council and a 1953 graduate of the college, said the dinner honors Clark's efforts to prepare the campus for the next president since he stepped foot as the campus as interim president in June 2003.
"John Clark has turned morale around among the faculty, staff and students and made many people on campus and in the community once again very happy to be associated with Plattsburgh State. He had unified and made this campus whole once more," said Amell. "The dinner is our public way of thanking John for the work he has completed during this past year."
Amell also said that it was Clark's request that all proceeds from this dinner benefit the Plattsburgh College Foundation Scholarship Fund for students attending Plattsburgh State.
Individuals interested in attending the dinner can make reservations by contacting Greg McGrath at 518-564-3933 by May 7. Sponsor levels are also available upon request for individuals, businesses and organizations interesting in participating in the dinner.
