English Country Dance Workshop Sept. 9
PLATTSBURGH, NY __ Take a spin on the dance floor and learn a new step or two during
the English Country Dance Workshop at the State University of New York College at
Plattsburgh on Friday, Sept. 9 from 3 to 5:30 p.m. in the Studio Theatre, Room 129,
Myers Fine Arts Building.
Hosted by the SUNY Plattsburgh Theatre Department, in association with Hill and Hollow Music, the workshop features Gene Murrow. An English country dancer and dance leader, Murrow teaches dance and early music workshops throughout the United States and Europe. He approaches English country dances as works of art, striving "to make their richness of structure, musical form, texture and affect enjoyable and appreciated by dancers of all abilities."
Admission is free and the event is open to the public. All SUNY Plattsburgh students
who participate in the workshop may attend the Battle of Plattsburgh Macomb Ball free
of charge on Friday, Sept. 9 at 9 p.m. at the Plattsburgh Elks Lodge.
The workshop is sponsored by the Plattsburgh College Foundation Winkel Humanities
