Employment Laws ~ Understanding Small Business Labor Issues
PLATTSBURGH, NY __ An upcoming Employment Laws Workshop will help small businesses
avoid labor law violations. The North Country Small Business Development Center (SBDC)
at the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh is pleased to offer a workshop
for employers interested in understanding their obligations to employees and the workplace.
New York State and U.S. Department of Labor representatives will present the workshop
Tuesday, April 27, 2004 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Franklin County OneWorkSource Center,
158 Finney Blvd., Malone.
The Employment Laws Workshop is co-sponsored by the North Country Small Business Development Center, Franklin County OneWorkSource, the Malone Chamber of Commerce and the U.S. and New York State Departments of Labor. The cost of the workshop is $10 and pre-registration is requested by April 23.
The North Country SBDC provides free confidential counseling and management services to new and existing small businesses in Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Hamilton, Warren and northern Washington counties. The SBDC office is part of a statewide program funded in part by the U.S. Small Business Administration and New York state.
