Dining Etiquette Dinner Geared Toward Diners and Servers
Not sure where the salad fork goes on a place setting or how to properly cut your meet?
Take as seat at the table and keep your hands in your laps. The SUNY Plattsburgh Collegiate Chapter of the American Marketing Association will tell you at “Elbows off the Table! An Interactive Etiquette Dinner for Servers and Diners” Tuesday, April 3, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Elks Club, Cumberland Avenue in Plattsburgh.
Open to campus and community, this evening of manners and mannerisms will teach participants the finer points of proper dining to help them feel more comfortable and confident when eating out. Servers — and dinner-party hosts — will learn the basics needed to set the table properly, serve properly and earn better tips. Students will reap tips on how to behave during a job-interview meal.
Presented by Dr. Nancy Church, professor and chair of marketing and entrepreneurship, and John Parmelee, lecturer in hotel, restaurant and tourism management, the evening features a Cornish game hen and accompaniments for $15 — tip included.
Reservations must be made before March 26 by calling 518-564-4169 or emailing [email protected].
