Annual Empty Bowl Dinner Nov. 10
PLATTSBURGH, NY __ The annual Empty Bowl Dinner will be held Wednesday, Nov. 10 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the John XXIII Newman Center, 90 Broad Street, Plattsburgh.
The public is welcome to attend this fund-raiser for the Interfaith Food Shelf. Come buy an "empty bowl" for $8 ($6 for students and $5 for children), which is then filled with homemade soup. Bread, beverages and cookies also will be served. SUNY Plattsburgh faculty and students and community members will donate soups and cookies.
Intermediate and advanced ceramics students at the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh will each make 10 to 15 bowls. Fifth-graders in Mrs. McGee's class at the Arthur Momot School are also participating as part of "Learn and Serve," a community outreach program.
