Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Day Community Commemoration Jan. 15
PLATTSBURGH, NY __ The Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Day Community Commemoration will
be held Monday, Jan. 15, at 1:30 p.m. at the Blessed John XXIII College Community
Newman Center, 90 Broad Street, Plattsburgh.
This annual event is held to reflect on King's contributions to the cause of the civil rights of all people and the continued struggle for peace in the world today.
This year's keynote speaker will be Dr. David Stone, assistant professor of counselor education at SUNY Plattsburgh. There will also be a musical performance by the New Jerusalem Baptist Church Choir.
The annual Dr. King Day celebration, sponsored by the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Commission of Clinton County, is supported by contributions from the Mayor's Office of the City of Plattsburgh, Sodexho Campus Services and the College Community Newman Center.
Donations to benefit the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Commission Scholarship Fund will
be accepted during the commemoration, which is open to everyone.
