12th-annual Presidents' Gala Benefits Student Scholarships
An Academy Award-themed Presidents’ Gala raised about $3,000 for scholarships distributed through the Plattsburgh College Foundation.
The 12th-annual gala, held Dec. 3 in the Warren Ballrooms, Angell College Center, featured fine dining, music and dancing amidst an Oscars backdrop. With about 270 tickets being sold between $10 and $20 and an additional donation of about $800 from the Student Association, Cori Jackson, director of the Center for Student Involvement, said the total will come to about $3,100 donated to the foundation’s general scholarship fund.
The foundation, which manages more than $18 million in endowed funds that benefit the college and students, provided $1.5 million in student scholarships in 2015-2016.
