What is Pi Sigma Alpha?
Pi Sigma Alpha is the national honor society for undergraduate and graduate students of political science. This organization was founded in 1920 and has among its membership many notable Americans. At SUNY Plattsburgh, Pi Sigma Alpha is an active organization stimulating political debate and discussion and inspiring students to their best academic performance.
Qualifications for Membership
Membership in Pi Sigma Alpha is open to all junior and senior students who have completed a minimum of 10 credits of political science courses (including at least one upper level course), earned an average grade of B in their political science courses, and rank in the top third of their class. There is a one-time life membership fee. Upon acceptance, students receive a certificate of membership and regular mailings from the national organization in Washington, D.C. and become eligible for scholarship and fellowship opportunities from the organization.
