• B.A./B.S. & M.P.A. at SUNY Albany’s Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy

  The Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science & Master of Public Administration Program

  If you want to lead in government, nonprofits or the private sector, the B.A./B.S. and M.P.A. accelerated pathway helps you get there sooner. Through our partnership with the University at Albany’s Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy, you can begin graduate coursework in your senior year and finish both your bachelor’s and master’s degrees in about five years.

  Rockefeller College is ranked among the nation’s top schools for public affairs. The M.P.A. trains you to lead in government and nonprofits, developing skills in policy, finance, ethics and public management. And, because of Rockefeller College’s prime location in the Capital Region, you’ll have access to career-aligned internships within the state legislature, federal agencies, public service departments, political organizations, nonprofit groups, and policy research firms.

  Eligibility

  To enroll in the B.A./B.S. and M.P.A., you must:

  • Have at least 56 undergraduate credits completed when you apply and 88 undergraduate credits completed when you enroll
  • Maintain a 3.3 GPA
  • Complete at least two quantitative courses (like statistics, economics, or math)
  • Complete all major requirements and all general education requirements before beginning

  Application Process

  First, with your faculty advisor, you’ll apply for nomination at SUNY Plattsburgh near the end of your junior year, and then submit your application to Rockefeller College. Eligible students may have graduate application fee and GRE requirements waived.

  If you’re passionate about global issues and want to make an impact on the world stage, the B.A./B.S. and M.I.A. accelerated pathway is for you. Through our partnership with the University at Albany’s Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy, you can start graduate coursework in your senior year and earn both your bachelor’s and master’s degrees in about five years.

  The M.I.A. at UAlbany equips you for global leadership with courses in international governance, economics, security and public management. You will also benefit from a required 400-hour internship where you will apply your knowledge and gain real-world skills.

• B.A./B.S. & J.D. at University at Buffalo School of Law

   Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science & Juris Doctor Program

  Earn your law degree in six years with the 3+3 accelerated pathway with the University at Buffalo School of Law. Take three years of undergraduate coursework at Plattsburgh, then enter law school at UB without a separate fourth year of undergrad. Your first year of law school counts toward your bachelor’s degree, enabling you to complete both degrees in about six years.

  The University at Buffalo School of Law — the only law school in the SUNY system — offers experiential courses that will allow you to build real-world skills on an international stage. You’ll learn from expert faculty, gain hands-on experience through clinics and practicums and graduate ready to practice law with confidence.

  Eligibility & Requirements

  • Major in political science (B.A./B.S.) or law and justice (B.A.)
  • Complete all major requirements in addition to at least 90 credits and all general education requirements by end of year three
  • Maintain a 3.6 GPA
  • Take the LSAT or GRE by January of your junior year
  • Apply to UB School of Law by February 1 of your junior year of undergraduate studies
  • Submit two academic recommendation letters
