Bruce Carlin


TV Studios Manager/Engineer & Adjunct Lecturer

Upon graduation, Bruce began a twelve year career at WPTZ-TV in the production, promotion and sales departments. In 1993 he started his first company, an advertising agency and media production company, Carlin Media Services. The company specialized in video production, marketing, public relations and website development. In 1999 he became a partner in Media Central, a full service advertising agency, production company and marketing firm. During his 15 years as a partner at Media Central he produced advertising campaigns, managed political campaigns and expanded into special event productions which included expanding Plattsburgh’s Mayor’s Cup Festival to become the largest free music, sports and community music festival on the east coast.

In 2014 he re-established Carlin Media with an emphasis on video production and website development. He has produced a number of documentaries, three of which aired nationally on PBS including “The Final Invasion, The Battle of Plattsburgh and the War of 1812”, the Emmy© Award nominated documentary “Divine Discontent: The Life of Charles Proteus Steinmetz” and most recently in 2021, the acclaimed documentary “Return To Auschwitz: The Survival of Vladimir Munk.”

He is an accomplished writer, camera operator and editor who has created thousands of commercial and video productions over his extensive career. He joined the team in communications studies in 2021 and is responsible for the TV studios, audio labs and editing facilities as well as teaching as an adjunct lecturer.
