Janine Scherline
Adjunct lecturer of music
Janine Scherline, clarinetist, is a sought-after chamber musician, soloist and instructor of clarinet in the Adirondack region. She has performed at venues in Europe, Canada and the US, including Lincoln Center, and participated in numerous masterclasses and workshops with renowned clarinetists and pedagogues including: Larry Combs, James Campbell, Howard Klug, and Richard Stoltzman alongside his master teacher Kalmen Opperman (d.2010). Locally, she’s performed with the Northern Symphonic Winds, Lake Placid Sinfonietta, Champlain Valley Voices, metamusic, and was a founding member of the Key Winds Trio. She is the principal clarinetist of the Adirondack Wind Ensemble and core member of the Trillium Chamber Players. Janine holds degrees from James Madison University, Ithaca College and has also studied at McGill University. When she’s not working up new music for Trillium, she enjoys working with generous people who are making a positive difference through philanthropy at Adirondack Foundation, and spending time with her husband Todd and their feline companions Ginsu and Peeka.
