SUNY Plattsburgh Faculty Promotions Announced


Four faculty members at SUNY Plattsburgh have received promotions to full professor effective Sept. 1, and  12 others have received promotions to associate professor.

Receiving promotions to professor are: 

Dr. Wendy Gordon, history. Gordon, who received the 2014 Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching, joined the faculty in August 1998. 

Dr. Jeff Hornibrook, history. Hornibrook joined the faculty in August 1997.

Dr. Jessamyn Neuhaus, history. Neuhaus began her tenure at the college in August 2004.

Dr. Kenneth Strang, business and supply chain management. Strang has been with the college since August 2010.

Promoted from assistant to associate professor are:

Dr. Areeg Barakat, management and international business. Barakat began teaching as an lecturer in 2007. In 2008, she became an instructor and was then promoted to assistant professor in fall 2012.

Dr. Mark Beaulieu, criminal justice. Beaulieu began teaching at SUNY Plattsburgh in August 2010.

Dr. Karina Ckless, chemistry. Ckless began teaching at SUNY Plattsburgh in Aug. 2008.

Dr. Thomas Friedrich, English. Friedrich began teaching at SUNY Plattsburgh in Aug. 2008.

Dr. Jeremy Grabbe, psychology. Grabbe joined the faculty in August 2007.

Dr. Stephen Henry, economics and finance. He began teaching at the college in August 2009.

Jorunn Gran-Henriksen, nutrition. Gran-Henriksen began teaching at SUNY Plattsburgh in August 2009.

Dr. Kirsten Isgro, communications. Isgro was a lecturer at the college from January 1997 to May 2000. A visiting professor from 2009, she became a full-time assistant professor in August 2010.

Dr. El Sayed Kandiel, accounting. Kandiel began teaching at SUNY Plattsburgh in Aug. 1989.

Colleen Lemza, public relations and journalism. Lemza was an adjuct lecturer at the college from 1998 through 2000. She became an assistant professor in August 2009.

Dr. Carol Lipszyc, English. Lipszyc began teaching at SUNY Plattsburgh in August 2008.

Dr. Kenneth Podolak, physics. Podolak began teaching at SUNY Plattsburgh in August 2008
