SUNY Plattsburgh Faculty Promoted for Academic Excellence
PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. __ The State University of New York College at Plattsburgh is pleased to announce the promotion of a dozen faculty members. "The faculty members we recognize and honor through academic promotions have demonstrated a commitment to the College and its students both in and out of the classroom," said SUNY Plattsburgh Provost Robert Golden.
Nine faculty members with the rank of assistant professor were promoted to associate professor. They include Dr. Mark Gultek, hotel, restaurant, and tourism; Noreen Houck and Wendy Sayward, nursing and nutrition; Dr. Gary Kroll, history; Dr. Susan Mody, childhood education; Dr. Ewa Pater, chemistry; Gregory Quenell, mathematics; Gretal Schueller, journalism; and Dr. Margaretha Wilcke, social work.
Three faculty members serving as associate professor were promoted to full professor. They include Dr. Mohamed Gaber, accounting; Dr. Greg Gregoriou, economics and finance, and Dr. Donald Slish, biology.
"The strength of a college is defined by the quality of its faculty," said Golden. "The faculty members we recognize with promotion have a deep commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service to the College and their profession. As a result, these faculty members and their colleagues throughout the institution enrich the learning opportunities we offer and help make SUNY Plattsburgh a top choice for students."
