SUNY Plattsburgh’s Office of Admissions will host two open house events this fall beginning Saturday, Oct. 18 at 9:30 a.m. in Hawkins Hall’s E. Glenn Giltz Auditorium, with a second event being held Saturday, Nov. 15.
Once prospective students and their parents are checked in, they’ll take a seat in
the auditorium where they’ll hear welcoming remarks from University President Alexander
Enyedi and Vice President for Enrollment and Student Success Karen McGrath, sharing
what they feel makes SUNY Plattsburgh special. A special transfer student presentation
will be held down the hall in the Krinovitz Recital Hall.
Students and their families will then be taken to academic information sessions where they will hear from faculty across university disciplines, including:

From 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., students can gather in the Warren Ballrooms on the second floor of the Angell College Center for “Cardinal Compass: Guiding Students to Success Fair.” There, they’ll be able to visit with representatives from the university’s diverse programs and activities designed to help students excel at Plattsburgh. The success fair is an explore-at-your-own-pace event offered only at the time listed.
Academic advising and undergraduate admissions appointments can be scheduled between
11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. in the Alumni Conference Room, second floor, Angell College
Center, where students can meet one on one with advisers for personalized guidance.
These sessions are designed to answer questions, provide application and enrollment
support and help plan the academic journey. Appointments are first-come, first-served.
Hour-long campus tours from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. give students and their families a look at classrooms, dining facilities, a residence hall, library and more, departing on a rotating basis from the Flynt Commons on the second floor of the Angell College Center.
