Stephanie Pfaff Joins SUNY Plattsburgh Departments of Music and Theater

PLATTSBURGH, NY (January 31, 2008) - Stephanie Pfaff of Plattsburgh, NY, has been appointed coordinator of performing arts at the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh. Pfaff secured the position after a formal search that included prospective candidates from around the region. As coordinator of performing arts, Pfaff is primarily engaged in the arts management and promotion of the music and theater departments' events and programs.

A relative newcomer to area, Pfaff previously enjoyed a rewarding career based in Boston, MA, where she held several senior management positions in marketing and public relations for non-profit organizations. Most recently she served as the director of communications at Mountain Lake PBS and currently has a consulting business, Pfaff Communications, whose clients include Keene Central School in Keene Valley, NY.

"We are delighted to have Stephanie on-board with us," stated Tim Palkovic, chair of the theater department. "She brings enthusiasm and ideas to the job that reflect her passion for the arts. We will benefit from her experience as we seek to increase awareness of our performing arts events."

"I love my job," said Pfaff. "We are fortunate to have such talented students, faculty, staff and community members participating in the variety of performing arts events we present on campus each season. The departments of music and theater contribute to the cultural life of the North Country by providing a resource for learning, inspiration and entertainment. I encourage the community to come and join the audience for a play or concert."

Pfaff is a board member and singer with the Champlain Valley Oratorio Society and is a member of the college's clarinet choir. She lives in Plattsburgh with her husband, Bill, a composer and assistant professor of music at SUNY Plattsburgh.
