Plattsburgh State Expands AMA Certificate Offerings

PLATTSBURGH, NY __ The State University of New York College at Plattsburgh in conjunction with the American Management Association (AMA) will be adding two new certificate programs this fall in Customer Service and Strategic Leadership.  In addition, online course offerings are now available.

The American Management Association in conjunction with the Plattsburgh State Center for Lifelong Learning offers certificates of achievement to participants who seek to broaden knowledge and skills in their field of study.

Through non-credit courses, students learn the essential skills needed to excel in today's business world.  The on-site classes, a total of 15 hours, are scheduled one night a week for five weeks. In addition to Customer Service and Strategic Leadership, certificate programs continue to be offered in the areas of Management, Marketing, and Human Resources.

"As our region continues to grow, we find an increasing need to educate community members in essential areas such as customer service and strategic leadership. We are excited to offer more certificate courses and have high hopes that the AMA program at Plattsburgh State will continue to expand," said Vicki Dauphinais, marketing specialist at the Center for Lifelong Learning.

In addition to two new certificate programs, participants will now be able to take AMA courses online. Dauphinais said the decision to add online courses was an easy one. "Many participants expressed an interest in taking online courses, and we wanted to make it more convenient for our participants to take AMA classes while providing an outlet so students could complete a certificate program at a faster pace."
