New SUNY Plattsburgh Eatery, ‘The Nest,’ Celebrates Grand Opening with Give-aways, Prizes
Chartwells, SUNY Plattsburgh’s dining servicer, in conjunction with College Auxiliary Services, will host a week-long celebration of the re-opening and re-branding of the former Sundowner location in the Angell College Center.
Beginning Monday, Jan. 27 in time for the return of students for the spring 2025 semester, The Nest will open its doors offering fare such as New York-style pizza, calzones, and cooked-to-order pastas, sushi, boba teas, hot bowls and ramen, Mediterranean pure foods, Indian- and Latin-inspired meals, Angus, black bean and chicken burgers and more.
On Monday, CAS and Chartwells will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at noon. Chartwells will be tabling in the ACC with samplings from food stations, raffles and giveaways.
On Tuesday, Jan. 28, for every entrée purchased during the day at any food station between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., Chartwells will donate one non-perishable item to the university food shelf, Cardinal Cupboard.
Wednesday will feature the Crave food station, which will offer half off all entrees purchased using Cardinal Cash, Dining Dollars, credit or debit between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Plattsburgh Pizza Co. will be featured during Thursday’s promotion. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the station will feature free garlic knots with all pizza or pasta entrees purchased using Cardinal Cash, Dining Dollars, credit and debit.
True Burger, which features Angus beef burgers, black bean burgers and chicken sandwiches as well as French fries, will be the final featured station on Friday, Jan. 31 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. With every burger purchased as above, diners will receive a free order of fries.
Hours at The Nest will be:
- Lunch and dinner, all stations: Monday-Friday, 11 a.m.-7:30 p.m.; closed Saturday and Sunday
- Late Night Hours: Plattsburgh Pizza Co. and True Burger stations, Monday-Thursday, 8 p.m. to midnight
- Friday and Saturday late night hours for Plattsburgh Pizza will be 8 p.m. to midnight; True Burger will be open 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.; Sunday hours will be 8 p.m. – midnight
